PMI UK Webinar: Benefits Realisation Management: Maps, Profiles and Evaluation. 11th August 2020

11-08-2020 4:00 pm -5:00 pm

A constant focus on benefits is probably the biggest factor in determining project success. But many organisations have made benefits realisation management so complicated, and benefits realisation so divorced from the day-to-day project decisions, that it’s difficult or impossible to maintain that ‘constant focus’.

Dr Minney will facilitate us through the basics of benefits management which every organisation should be doing in order to gain the benefits of benefits management:

  • Understand different approaches to benefits mapping, and their use and abuse, whys and purpose
  • What information do you need in a benefit profile to ensure that that benefit has a high chance of success – and how to prioritise so that you only put the work into the most relevant benefits
  • How to put a value on each benefit, and how to defend this in a business case
  • How to use this information to make better decisions, and how to keep it relevant and up-to-date

PMI Aberdeen Virtual Event: Practical Tips for morphing to a Remote Project Team. 27th August 2020

27-08-2020 6:30 pm -8:30 pm

While not intended as such, the COVID 19 lockdown has been a massive experiment in remote working. Many companies have found it to be beneficial and will want to continue with it in some form. However, managing remote project teams is not as simple as moving meetings onto Zoom or Teams. If only we could hear from an expert in remote teams and remote projects to learn what the best practices are and how to maintain the benefit we have seen from remote working.

PMI UK Webinar: The role of Collaborative Relationships in complex Projects. 3rd September 2020

03-09-2020 12:00 pm -1:00 pm

Collaboration is a common terminology in todays business world but is seldom fully understood or fully integrated into working practices.

As major projects become increasingly more complex in both national and international programmes relationships between organisations and their people can represent a significant risk to the parties involved.

The development and publication of the international standard for collaborative working focused on how organisations can take a systemic approach to ensuring the appropriate focus on those key strategic relationships.

Mentoring Programme

PMI UK has skilled Mentors and enthusiastic Mentees who are looking to share knowledge and improve their professional capabilities. The PMI UK mentoring scheme supports willing Mentors and Mentees by connecting them to develop their professional skills in project, program, and portfolio management. This is a voluntary scheme that succeeds through the interest, passion, and commitment of those involved.

Practice Standards

PMI standards answer questions such as: How does your organisation’s project management compare to good practice? And what steps might you take to improve? What are the key elements of Project Manager competency? What do you need to know to be a competent Project Manager or competent in another project management discipline? PMI’s global standards carry the collective knowledge of the profession, based on input from thousands of practitioners. These standards are widely accepted and, when consistently applied, they help you, your global peers and your organization achieve professional excellence. See the full suite of standards at
